Imeretian Saffron (Marigold)
Imeretian saffron, also known as Georgian marigold or “kviteli kvavili” (“yellow flower”), is a unique spice blend cherished in Georgian cuisine. Sometimes referred to as Zafrana in Georgia, this spice is made from dried marigold petals and is prized for its rich golden color and warm, earthy flavor with subtle notes of green apple and orange.
Often used as a natural coloring agent, it brings a beautiful hue and shine to dishes and is also used in making cheeses, oils, and beverages. Its aromatic profile makes it ideal for seasoning meats, fish, risottos, soups, and stews.
Highly fragrant – use sparingly to enhance dishes without overpowering the other ingredients.
Ingredients: marigold (Calendula officinalis)
Storage conditions: Store at 0°C to +25°C.
